WHO ARE WE?
B-sthenos was established in 2020 by a community of calisthenics enthusiasts who wanted to improve their physical condition and develop social bonds through outdoor workouts.
Problem Statement
Mental Health Impact
The rising sedentary lifestyle among young people not only limits their physical activity but also contributes to growing mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, and depression.
Rising Violence
In several Brussels neighborhoods, violence and drug use are becoming alarmingly common among younger generations.
What is calisthenics?
Calisthenics is based on body-weighted exercises that can be done anywhere.

Our Mission
- 01Promote the physical, mental, and social advantages of street workout and calisthenics
- 02Our mission is to foster and strengthen the sense of belonging among young people through structured calisthenics training and the co-creation of inclusive, community-driven local and international projects.
- 03 Our mission is to work hand in hand with young people to design and build an inclusive, fully adapted street workout park, made from recycled metals sourced from confiscated weapons. Beyond the construction itself, we will guide and support them throughout the entire process from reflection and planning to meetings with public authorities empowering them to take an active role in shaping their community.

Africa – social inclusion, sport.
As part of a youth exchange we met in Morocco the Agadir Street Workout Association (ASWA), in Sénégal the Street Workout Dakar, Monastir Street Workout in Tunisia and Calisthenics Bros Jijel in Algeria.
The goal is to show young people from Brussels that it is possible to carry out enriching projects and that they are capable of great things. By sharing values such as team spirit, respect, surpassing oneself and empathy during workshops at the Street Workout parks.
